- Examine patients' eyes to identify injuries, diseases, and vision defects.
- Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment, including slit-lamp bio-microscopy, fundus cameras, and optical coherence tomography.
- Provide clear explanations of examination results to patients and offer guidance on vision-related issues.
- Recommend suitable optical aids based on assessments and individual needs.
- Refer patients to ophthalmologists when eye conditions require specialized care.
- Educate first-time contact lens wearers on proper handling techniques.
- Manage inventory of contact lenses, trial lenses, and related solutions.
- Troubleshoot and adjust spectacle fittings and ophthalmic lenses.
- Maintain accurate records of patients' eye health and purchase history.
- Ensure all equipment and measuring tools are operational and well-maintained.
- Supervise and support the training of junior optometrists and opticians.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
