magic42 is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate eCommerce Web Developer to join our in-house development team as we continue to grow. As our Graduate eCommerce Web Developer YOU will:

  • Work as an integral part of our development team to design robust and efficient eCommerce applications.
  • Be involved in the full cycle of planning, developing and testing web applications using both traditional coding and AI assisted approaches.
  • Work on exciting projects, fixing software bugs and developing new features with the help of modern AI development tools.
  • Learn to effectively use AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and other emerging tools to accelerate your development.
  • Experiment with new AI tools and share your findings with the team during our regular hackathons and learning sessions.
  • Be mentored and coached by experienced developers who will teach you both solid coding fundamentals and smart AI integration.
  • Have dedicated and scheduled learning time and one to one training sessions every week so you can develop your skills in coding and AI fluency.
  • Undertake and fully commit to learning, be that through our SMART learning plans, technical induction process, or other training and experimentation sessions.

Requirements

About our Graduate eCommerce Web Developer:

  • You have a passion for IT, tech, web and eCommerce development.
  • You are able to work at the command line in a Linux environment with open source technologies.
  • You have solid educational and hands-on practical experience using Object Oriented programming.
  • You are highly proficient in any OO programming language: PHP, Java, C# or similar and have keen interest in cross training.
  • You are a recent graduate (or graduating this year) with a degree in an IT related subject (Computer Science, Software Development, etc).
  • You have an analytical mindset with solid problem-solving skills.
  • You have active experience using AI coding agents (Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar) in your development work.
  • You can demonstrate thoughtful use of AI tools - knowing when to use AI assistance versus traditional coding approaches.
  • You understand how to write effective prompts for code generation and can critically evaluate AI-generated solutions.
  • You have experience integrating AI tools into your development workflow, not just occasional use.
  • You will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • You are familiar with version control systems (Git) and have familiarity with eCommerce platforms.
  • You will have a positive can-do attitude, as well as the motivation to work hard and build upon your current skillset.
  • You're excited about learning new AI development tools and sharing discoveries with the team.
  • You have curiosity about emerging technologies and adaptability to fast-paced environments.
