Job Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our dynamic team at New West Lodge. As a Senior Support Worker, you will take on greater responsibilities, guiding and supporting our dedicated care team, while directly assisting adults with learning disabilities and associated health needs.

Your primary focus will be providing high-quality care, companionship, and promoting independence while managing challenging behaviours and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on support for personal care, daily living activities, cooking, cleaning, and managing finances.
  • Monitor and accurately report residents’ health conditions and wellbeing, liaising closely with healthcare professionals.
  • Act as a key worker, advocating effectively for residents’ individual wants and needs.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, respect, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Complete accurate, timely reports and documentation using in-house computer systems.
  • Lead shifts and mentor support workers, fostering a positive and effective team environment.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Support Worker with progression into senior responsibilities.
  • Training and experience in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Experience with PEG feeding, autism, and learning disabilities.
  • Skilled in working with non-verbal individuals and those requiring manual handling.
  • Competent IT skills for logging daily reports and managing resident documentation (training provided).
  • Positive, motivated, and proactive with strong leadership skills.
  • Competitive hourly rate of £11.44 per hour
