The Role
The IT & Security Manager is responsible for managing the organization’s IT infrastructure and ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of its digital assets. This role oversees the daily operation of IT systems, leads the cybersecurity strategy, and implements policies to support secure and efficient use of technology. The IT & Security Manager also plays a key leadership role in risk management, incident response, compliance, and strategic planning to support business objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems, networks, and services.
- Manage day-to-day operations of hardware, software, cloud services, and telecommunications.
- Ensure system performance, availability, and data integrity.
- Coordinate IT support and service delivery across departments.
- Oversee incident management processes to ensure timely identification, escalation, and resolution of IT issues, minimizing downtime and maintaining service continuity.
- Cybersecurity Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures.
- Monitor networks and systems for security breaches and vulnerabilities.
- Lead incident response and recovery efforts following cyber threats or breaches.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and penetration testing.
- Governance, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure IT and security practices comply with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on systems, processes, and incident logs.
- Oversee business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Coordinate audits and remedial actions.
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor the IT team, including support, systems, and security personnel.
- Collaborate with leadership to align IT strategies with business goals.
- Manage vendor relationships and technology procurement.
- Prepare and manage the IT and cybersecurity budget.
What experience do I need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field is advantageous.
- One or more of the following certifications are considered a strong advantage:
- CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- CISM – Certified Information Security Manager
- CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CySA+
- ITIL Foundation – For IT service management
- Microsoft, Cisco, or AWS certifications
- Candidates without certifications but with relevant experience and a strong security mindset are still encouraged to apply.
