The Lead Product Manager will be the key product representative for Magentus’ Pathology products in the EMEA market, particularly focused on the UK. Magentus has won customer implementations for 4 NHS pathology regions across the UK who service millions of patients every year, and our pathology product, Evolution vLab, will be a critical part of supporting the management of a safe, efficient and high-quality service to these patients helping to ensure a healthy population. This is in line with our Magentus mission to improve the health of society.

The Lead Product Manager will lead the product strategy and lifecycle across our Pathology business in the EMEA market. The role is responsible for driving the development of Magentus’ pathology products that meet customer needs and deliver on existing customer commitments whilst ensuring the priorities of the product portfolio across the broader Magentus business units are aligned to business strategy.

This role will work closely with other product team members and key stakeholders in engineering, project and implementation, design, marketing, support and sales to deliver product improvements in line with our customers’ needs and commitments and that enhance customer satisfaction and excellent product positioning in the market and support sustainable business growth over time.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Roadmap ownership
    • Develop and own the roadmap of customer needs and commitments to support customer and Magentus goals.
    • Identify and prioritise key opportunities in Magentus target markets based on market research, customer insights and industry trends.
    • Collaborate with key business stakeholders to define long-term product roadmaps and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Product Development & Lifecycle Management
    • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and post-launch evaluation.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to design, build and deliver the product improvements and capabilities required based on existing customer contractual commitments and improvements identified by carrying out research and interacting with customers.
    • Participate in customer meetings and interactions to communicate plans, detailed product information and gather feedback to help shape them.
    • Identify value creating solutions that meet customer needs and all regulatory and safety requirements.
    • Establish and monitor relevant product and commercial KPIs to assess and influence both product performance and commercial outcomes through driving continuous improvement.
    • Stay on the forefront of product innovation and health care technology to evolve our product proposition in market to maintain a competitive advantage in the market.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
    • Work closely with engineering and design peers to ensure that the product plans and roadmaps are well understood and articulated creating a one team mindset across all disciplines.
    • Work closely with implementation and project teams on product delivery aspects of program management and end to end delivery of customer projects and implementations.
    • Work closely with marketing, sales, and customer support teams to ensure alignment between product development and go-to-market strategies.
    • Engage with external partners, industry experts and regulatory bodies where needed, to stay informed and navigate industry challenges and opportunities.
    • Own the product value propositions and key differentiators to drive messaging with marketing and sales.
    • Provide expert input into bids/tenders partnering closely with Sales, Bid Management, and Marketing.
  • Market Insights and Customer Focus
    • Conduct and facilitate market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and customer needs.
    • Gain a deep understanding of target customers through user interviews, surveys, product utilization and related feedback mechanisms.
    • Ensure that all product offerings are designed with a user-centric approach and deliver substantial value to customers.
    • Carry out demonstrations to customers and other key stakeholders.
    • Develop and manage relationships with clinical and technology KOLs in the market.
    • Maintain knowledge and awareness of market regulatory environment to ensure product maintains ongoing compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Product Operational Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities and contribute to the improvement of our end to end product operations with a mindset of continuous improvement.
    • Support a transformation from project/delivery driven initiatives to product led innovation and market driven.

What experience do I need

  • Extensive experience as a product management experience in a proven technology product company.
  • Experience in a leadership role and/or management of product teams.
  • A Pathology/Lab or LIMS/LIS background looked upon highly favourably and healthcare/healthtech background essential.
  • Previous experience with a business carrying out complex extended product implementations for customers looked upon favourably.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Very strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills a must.
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills; with a strong talent for conveying product plans and roadmaps to diverse audiences both internal to Magentus and externally to key customers and stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of product development processes, including design thinking, agile methodologies, and lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of health care trends and technologies to evolve product offerings and continue to deliver greater customer value.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with experience in using data to drive decision-making and product development.
