We’re working in partnership with a well-established, national property services contractor—part of a wider group with over a century of combined experience—to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. Our client is delivering a long‑term planned refurbishment programme on behalf of a local authority, focusing on occupied residential properties. The Opportunity
This is a key commercial role within a high‑performing team, where you’ll take ownership of cost control, financial performance, and commercial governance across a major housing contract. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and financial performance of planned refurbishment works
- Prepare and review valuations, cost reports, and forecasts
- Oversee subcontractor accounts, including applications and final accounts
- Control and value variations, ensuring robust commercial justification
- Support budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and CVRs
- Work closely with operational teams to align delivery and commercial outcomes
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, schedules of rates, and client requirements
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Support audits, reporting, and internal governance processes
About You
We’re looking for a commercially astute professional who enjoys working within a structured, framework‑driven environment.
Essential experience:
- Proven background as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Experience in social housing, refurbishment, or planned maintenance works
- Strong understanding of cost control and commercial processes
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts and valuations
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Good IT skills, including Excel and commercial systems
