Magenta Recruitment are looking for an experienced Fire Stopping Operative in the East Anglia area to work with a property maintenance and refurbishment contractor located in Suffolk. Joining a growing Fire Safety team, delivering compliant surveying, technical oversight and supervision across live environments throughout East Anglia.
The right candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and remediation of fire stopping systems across a range of sites, including social housing, MOD, healthcare and education properties. The role involves both team-based and lone working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installing fire stopping systems in line with manufacturer guidance, approved details and best practice
- Carrying out works including penetrations, linear gaps, cavity barriers, pipe collars and wraps, fire-rated bulkheads, flexible walls and ceilings
- Completing works in compliance with FIRAS / BM TRADA standards and fire safety regulations
- Troubleshooting non-compliant installations and rectifying defects to compliant standards
- Accurately recording works using fire evidence and quality assurance system
- Working safely within occupied buildings, always maintaining professionalism
- Travelling across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridge, Peterborough and Hertfordshire
Required:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in fire stopping.
- Strong understanding of manufacturer standard details and compliant installation practices
- Experience using fire evidence or audit apps (e.g. PlanRadar, Bolster, CCS Systems, Site Audit Pro) - desirable, training provided
- A strong interest in fire safety and a willingness to develop technical knowledge
- A professional, polite and flexible approach to work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- A full UK driving licence
- Your own hand tools
