Our client is a well‑established FM service provider operating across London, delivering maintenance and compliance solutions across large residential and mixed-use developments throughout London.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Fire Suppression & Sprinkler Service Engineer to join their expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for a long-term role with a clear pathway to permanent employment.

The Role

As a Fire Suppression & Sprinkler Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of a range of fire suppression systems across residential and commercial properties.

Working independently across multiple sites, you will ensure all systems remain compliant, fully operational, and maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on sprinkler systems.
  • Service and test sprinkler flow switch systems, including flow and signal testing.
  • Inspect, maintain, and service dry riser and wet riser systems.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out remedial repairs on fire suppression equipment.
  • Complete service reports, maintenance records, and compliance documentation accurately.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Participate in an on-call rota (1 week in every 3) once fully trained and established within the role.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while working on occupied residential and commercial sites.

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience servicing, maintaining, or installing sprinkler systems.
  • Experience working on domestic and/or commercial fire suppression systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.

Desirable

  • Experience servicing dry riser and wet riser systems.
  • Relevant sprinkler, fire suppression, mechanical engineering, or fire safety qualifications.
  • Previous experience working within residential developments, apartment blocks, or commercial environments.

Training and additional certification may be provided for candidates with strong sprinkler experience who require further training on dry and wet riser systems.

  • Working Hours
  • Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm
  • 44 hours per week

  • Important Information

All successful candidates will initially join on a self-employed CIS basis as a Sole Trader.

Please note

  • Limited companies cannot be considered.
  • Candidates must be willing to operate as a Sole Trader during the initial six-month period.
  • Following six months of successful service, engineers will have the option to:
  • Move onto a PAYE contract, or
  • Continue operating as a Sole Trader under CIS.
