Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.The Category Lead is responsible for achieving the Lowest Total Cost of Acquisition for the allocated category focussing on the key areas of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Innovation and Risk. Working with key internal stakeholders to develop and deploy Category Strategies and leading Supplier Relationship Management. Implementation of Long Term Agreements to leverage group spend and drive contract compliance.Perks and BenefitsA company culture that promotes work life balanceAccess to mental health supportBusiness performance related bonus Career development opportunitiesCommitment to continued learning and developmentLong Service AwardsEnhanced Holiday Entitlement based on length of serviceFree parking25% off local gym membershipEssential Responsibilities Safety Must comply with relevant Environment, Health and Safety legislation and company policies, procedures and safe working systems Ensure a safe working environment & practices are maintained and compliance to site HSE standards Will complete and authorise risk assessments, COSHH assessments, manual handling assessments and CAR reports Responsible for completing all accident investigations and approving appropriate actions Perform visual inspection of work area to obtain a 6S score daily and ensure the work area is maintained to 6S standardsQuality Developing and implementing sourcing strategy as well as driving savings/best value on large complex projectsManage key supplier relations delivering performance in cost, service, and quality including complex jobsLead negotiations and contracting RFQs and tenders for specific allocated projectsSupport and lead Category Buyer in the implementation of Category strategyAnalytical support in the form of market data and competitive reviews providing insights on category opportunities, pricing and promotional strategyWork with the product streams team to provide support material for the existing portfolio and for the launch of new products as necessaryPresent proposals to improve existing portfolio and/or product profitabilityUndertake Ad hoc market research set-up, implementation and analysis as necessaryImplement strategies to deliver targeted benefits and forecasted financial savingsDesign and deliver against performance measures, including supply, cost and qualityAssist in investigating opportunities for broader savings and reductions, along with establishing new processes and systems across the companyProduce regular reports on supplier performance consisting of cost analysis and potential savings for forecast and budgetsLiaise and develop clear communication with production regarding stock takes and expected delivery informationEnsure purchase orders are complete and accurate, whilst expediting overdue purchase ordersWork alongside the Product and Innovation team to achieve margin, technical and brand targetsProvide support and guidance to the Category Buyer and Supply Chain teamPeople Behaviours to be in line and support company values To complete all mandatory E-leaning coursesPosition RequirementsEssential Criteria: Minimum of 5 GCSE or equivalent including Maths & English.
