Responsible for the safe operation of the plant. Ensuring the production plan can be achieved whilst escalating all issues and developing plans and strategies to overcome obstacles preventing the plan from being achieved, for presenting results on a daily basis as well as attending and chairing team briefs, promoting a positive can-do attitude, problem solving, promoting the right behaviours and using lean tools.

Essential Responsibilities
Safety
- Must comply with relevant Environment, Health and Safety legislation and company policies, procedures and safe working systems
- Ensure a safe working environment & practices are maintained and compliance to site HSE standards
- Will complete and authorise risk assessments, COSHH assessments, manual handling assessments and CAR reports
- Responsible for completing all accident investigations and approving appropriate actions.
Quality
- Resolving of process problems in conjunction with the Quality department and or escalating Manager as required
- Will participate and lead the MRB process ensuring attendance and actions are completed in a timely manner. Will also be required to use problem solving tools such as 5Y and 8D and will be responsible to sign off the process when complete ensuring all actions are in place and stability is established
- Participate in both internal and external audits of the treatments processes
- Ensure that processes and procedures are followed to ensure all tasks are performed efficiently and to the required quality standard
Cost
- Responsible for presenting production KPI's on a daily basis and to understand failures. All failures are to be supported with recovery plans developed by the job holder and signed off by their line manager
- Champion continuous improvement activities within the relevant plant and present findings and results to team members
- Actively work with Divisional leads to improve OEE
Delivery
- Responsible for ensuring the production schedule is adhered to and be able to make decisions on how best to execute in line with requirements
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful running of the overall plant
- Responsible for escalating and reporting all blockers and failures to the production plan and be responsible for developing a plan to overcome the blockers with clear actions and owners
- Responsible for understanding and owning hours/units cleared vs planned and attended
People
- Ensure sufficient resource is in place, develop and execute training plans with the level 4 operators to ensure the business has the correct skills within the relevant areas to achieve the production plan
- Will be responsible for all absence management
- Conduct performance appraisal reviews in line with company procedures
- Responsible for ensuring completion probation reviews for all team members. Ensuring positive and negative feedback where required is delivered in a professional and constructive way. All negative feedback should be accompanied by a support plan
- Responsible for participating and conducting investigations
- Responsible for chairing disciplinary investigations in line with the company disciplinary policy
- Responsible for recruitment and onboarding and supervision of Team Leaders
- Oversee Team Leaders to ensure coaching and mentoring of all Operators/Sprayers at levels 4 are completed
- Mentoring and development of Team Leaders in People Management
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 GCSE or equivalent including Maths & English
- Good verbal and written communication (passed numeracy & literacy exam)
- Excellent vision requirements (passed vision exam)
- ILM level 3 in management or equivalent
- Supervisory experience
- Experience of working with large teams
