Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Quality Engineer. This is a full-time permanent position of 39 hours per week.

Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB. Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.

To assist with day-to-day activities supporting the Quality Engineer and Quality function which could include:

  • Documentation preparation
  • Internal audits
  • Supporting daily regular operating cadences
  • Problem solving

Comfortable in strategic data-driven tools and processes as well as pragmatic approaches in an aerospace/manufacturing environment, supporting the shop floor in daily Quality related activities. This role will report into a Quality Engineer.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Internal audits
  • Documentation preparation
  • Liaise with Magellan sites and internal departments on supplier quality related issues
  • Support in the timely closure of Supplier related 8Ds
  • Supporting daily regular operating cadences
  • Problem solving

Position Requirements:

Academic: Apprenticeship in Manufacturing in Aerospace industry

Experience: Manufacturing experience in Aerospace industry

Key Competencies:

  • Familiar with problem solving tools
  • Comfortable in working under direction
  • Clear communicator

Other skills/Abilities:

The job requires IT Skills to include Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
