Overview
In this role you will lead the treatments team to meet daily targets, ensuring adherence to procedures and deadlines while coordinating with other departments and senior management. You will drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the treatments line, solving problems and maintaining operational discipline. The position sits in a unionised, 24/7 manufacturing environment, with a focus on people development and process excellence. Responsibilities
- Lead treatments team to achieve daily targets and ensure adherence to procedures, policies and deadlines
- Communicate across departments and with senior management to overcome obstacles with supervisor support
- Maintain safe working environment and comply with EH&S standards and local policies
- Perform 6S housekeeping and verify score daily
- Participate in internal/external audits and lead MRB processes with timely actions
- Utilise problem-solving tools (5Y, 8D) and sign off actions to ensure stability
- Maintain internal KPI measures (SQDCP, output, DAWC, arrears) and manage TAKT/cell/PPM boards
- Analyse KPI data to drive outcomes and coordinate production scheduling with other departments
- Schedule parts through treatments process and ensure standard work is followed and audited
- Lead and mentor production team, recruit/onboard operators, identify training needs, and conduct appraisals
- Escalate employee relations issues and lead disciplinary investigations as required
- Manage absence and support probation reviews with constructive feedback and action plans
Key requirements
- 5 GCSEs including Maths & English
- ILM level 3 in management or equivalent
- Team Leader experience in a manufacturing environment
- 1 year aerospace experience
- Experience in leading a large team
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications and drawings
