Full Time, Permanent Position
42 hours per week, multiple shift patterns available including 12/7 & 24/7

To assemble aircraft components and machined components to customer specifications, following SOPs, basic engineering drawings and specifications output to the required quality and cost.

Essential Responsibilities
- To ensure all tooling is present and of an acceptable standard prior to use and reporting any issues through the SQDCP process and maintaining any tooling in use
- To ensure that all supporting documentation is maintained and used where provided to ensure the correct assembly of parts e.g. Visual Aids, Standard Operating Procedures, Drawings, Specifications
- Responsible for the completion of all aspects of related operational documentation
- To ensure the mixing and use of sealants in line with any traceability requirements, storage requirements and use by dates
- Responsible for cleaning and ensuring part is of an acceptable standard before submitting to Inspection
- Ability to identify when things are deviating from the standard and seek advice from approved personnel on how to rectify the issue
- Responsible for reporting all component/machine non-conformances using the appropriate forms to the Team Leader or Quality Inspector
- Be active in identifying improvements within the assembly processes
- To ensure all measuring equipment is calibrated
- Verify parts are correct to the job card and processed following customer specifications
- Responsible for identifying any failures with parts, completion of NCR forms and escalating to the Line Manager for rectification work
- Ensure that processes and procedures are followed to ensure all tasks are performed efficiently and to the required quality standard
- Must comply with relevant Environment, Health and Safety legislation and company policies, procedures and safe working systems
- The job has responsibility for cross checking that all of the prior operations have been completed prior to commencing this operation
- Other reasonable requests may be asked
Position Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- NVQ level 3 Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering- Fitting and Assembly, or equivalent
- Must have 3 years’ experience in a similar job
- Able to identify components and select the correct tooling/jigging media and carry out a given operation in the routing in compliance with the engineering drawings in multi-disciplines
- GCSE or equivalent including Maths & English
- Good verbal and written communication
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications, drawings and visual aids
- There is a physical element to this role lifting parts to and from a work area bench
Desirable Criteria
- SAP or MRP experience
- Crane licence
- Pedestrian forklift licence
