Overview
As Quality Manager at Magellan Aerospace, you will lead the Quality Function and maintain the QMS across the site in Llay. You will interact with customers and suppliers to drive quality improvements and ensure product and service quality. You’ll guide the quality team, manage audits, and lead data-driven improvement projects to prevent defects. This role sits at the heart of continuous improvement and lean initiatives within a globally recognized aerospace manufacturer.

Responsibilities
- Set and deliver the quality policy and objectives with reporting support
- Lead the quality team and ensure alignment with policy and procedures
- Coordinate/lead on-site quality reviews
- Ensure effective quality controls across manufacturing from PO to dispatch
- Confirm QMS conformance with relevant standards and fit for purpose
- Interface with customers on quality requirements and with suppliers on quality requirements
- Lead quality performance reviews (business and customer reviews)
- Proactively drive defect prevention and KPI-based quality projects
- Act as point of contact for all quality audits (Reg., CB, Customer)
- Provide cost-of-quality reports and develop preventive solutions using NC data
- Investigate rework and rejects with root-cause analysis and preventive/corrective actions
- Support site management to meet operational objectives and quality development across the group
- Maintain productive performance with minimal supervision and safe working practices
- Support continuous improvement programs and lean manufacturing through KPI ownership
- Foster teamwork and knowledge sharing within the workforce
Key requirements
- Academic: Relevant 3rd level qualification in Engineering or Quality
- Experience in machine tools and manufacturing techniques
- Quality experience in a manufacturing environment / Aerospace MRO
- Regulatory experience AS9100/NADCAP or Part 145
- Experience with quality management systems
- Lean Manufacturing, RCCA, First Article Inspection (FAIR), Visual Management
- Proven experience managing Quality Teams
