Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Magellan Aerospace, you will optimise machining, metal treatment and assembly processes to deliver safe, efficient, and repeatable production. You’ll collaborate across Production, Quality and Engineering to resolve technical issues and drive improvements in quality, cost, and delivery. You will support NPI and develop tooling, process documentation and manufacturing instructions. This role offers a chance to shape manufacturing capability at a global aerospace supplier and contribute to continuous improvement culture.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and continuously improve manufacturing processes
- Provide day-to-day technical support to Production, resolving issues and process interruptions
- Support machining, treatment and assembly processes with compliance to specs and standards
- Create, maintain and improve SOPs, instructions, routes and documentation
- Produce and modify 3D CAD models, drawings, tooling designs and manufacturing documentation
- Support NPI activities including feasibility assessments, process planning, tooling development and risk assessment
- Identify and implement improvements to reduce cycle times, scrap, rework and costs while increasing efficiency
- Investigate defects and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions
- Deliver multiple Manufacturing Engineering projects focused on Quality, Cost and Delivery
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures and jigs to improve process capability and safety
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop tooling solutions and support timely delivery
- Promote lean principles, standardized working practices and efficient use of resources
- Use data and feedback to identify opportunities and verify improvements
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, and customer/regulatory requirements
Key requirements
- Over 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience with aerospace product industrialisation
- Computer literacy: MS Office, MS Project, MRP systems; CATIA V5 experience beneficial
- Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering fundamentals and practices
- Knowledge of aerospace materials and standard hardware
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- CAD skills; GD&T knowledge; tooling and fixturing knowledge; CNC machining knowledge
