Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a UK Supply Chain Quality Manager. This is a full-time, permanent position with 39 hours per week. Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB. The site is unionised and works in partnership with Unite the Union.

The role involves owning and executing the Supply Chain Quality Strategy, collaborating and building relationships with senior Magellan and customer stakeholders up to VP level. The candidate should be comfortable with strategic data-driven tools and processes as well as pragmatic approaches in an aerospace/manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring supplier QMS meets Magellan, AS9100, NADCAP, and end customer requirements.
  • Leading a small team and collaborating horizontally and cross-functionally with other Magellan teams across the UK including Procurement/Supply Chain, Quality, and Customer.
  • Providing leadership directly and through the team in supplier-related activities, with up to 50% travel maximum.
  • Assisting with supplier development, problem-solving, and regulatory activity under the direction of the Quality Director.
  • Carrying out audits/investigations in a recognised methodical manner, completing structured reports, and communicating to a range of stakeholders.

Essential responsibilities also include visiting, assessing, and auditing suppliers within the UK in line with the Magellan audit process, supporting Magellan supporting sites with QMS maintenance and development, liaising with Magellan sites and internal departments on supplier quality-related issues, overseeing the timely closure of Supplier related 8Ds, and escalating internally accordingly.
