Magellan Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for NPI Configuration Engineer. Full time, permanent position, 39 hours per week. Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB. Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
To support all Magellan sites in the configuration management and data control. Maintaining the Bills of Material and change management supporting a manufacturing and assembly rate that is in fluctuation and aligned to full rate production in the various company ERP systems. Participate in Change Control Boards and Technical Review Boards to identify change requirements and associated impacts. Manage the 'As Maintained' Bills of Material and associated changes to enable accurate and reliable information transfer to the various programs and in support of customer demands.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Is the point of contact for all technical input into the ERP system
- Responsible for establishing feasible solutions to design and engineering problems where precedence does not exist
- Ensures all aspects of the contract review are adhered to in order to support customer expectations
- Help and Advise Engineering Colleagues with engineering queries and changes through the works query note process
- Manages electronic data transfer and data management between Magellan, Customers and suppliers
- Ensures all standards and procedures are adhered to
- Assists the first article proving of all data and support documentation in a production environment
- Liaise with external customers and suppliers to develop best practices in line with product requirements
- Attend daily/weekly sessions to update on progress
- Support the NPI process as and when required
Position Requirements:
- Academic: HNC/HND or higher
- Experience: Min 5 years of production and Engineering experience in an Aerospace environment
- Use of ERP systems (SAP desirable)
- Experience of creation and maintenance of routings and BoMs
- Experience of configuration and change management
Key Competencies:
- Knowledge of GD&T techniques
- Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of company systems
- Sound knowledge of multi-discipline engineering practices, processes and procedures
- Creation and maintenance of bills of materials
- Creation and maintenance of manufacturing Routings and process flows
- Exceptional attention to detail is paramount for the successful execution of this role
- Sound knowledge of aerospace materials, treatments and standard hardware
Other skills/Abilities:
- Skills: CAD Experience (Catia V5 Desirable), Good practical co-ordination skills, Good understanding of spoken and written English
- Abilities: Ability to work using own initiative, Ability to work as a team and individual, Ability to react and support to operational requirements
