Euravia Engineering & Supply Co Ltd, a part of Magellan Aerospace Kelbrook, Lancashire has an exciting opportunity for Inspection Team Leader (Internal Only). This is a full-time, permanent position with weekdays from Monday to Friday, totalling 37.5 hours per week. The job location is Colne Road, Kelbrook, Lancashire BB18 6SN.

The role will ensure a safe working environment for both product and people, as well as setting and achieving targets, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring right first time. The team leader will have extensive knowledge and relevant experience in inspection activities and be competent to train and develop the team or coordinate training accordingly.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Competent in all aspects of inspection activities
  • Engine component release to service (Form 1 / 8130)
  • Manage the team day to day to ensure priorities are aligned with the business needs, performance levels are maintained and objectives delivered
  • Train new members of staff and ensure competence assessments are completed in a timely manner
  • Oversee the completion of required activities within the team including but not limited to: daily, weekly, monthly control checks, consumable requisitions, equipment calibration
  • Continuously review and ensure that the processes used within the department are compliant with regulatory standards
  • Lead efforts to streamline project workflows and decrease overall booked hours
  • Attend operational & compliance meetings where required. Main point of contact for inspection/NDT during compliance audits
  • Develop and implement / lead CI projects to increase utilisation and remove waste with the support of the compliance/engineering team
  • Communicate effectively across the site ensuring that where required, the correct escalation process is adopted
  • Maintain a cost-conscious focus with regards to hours booked, consumables and waste
  • Keep abreast of new emerging technologies and be pivotal in the implementation of the future business strategy for the inspection department
  • Ensure compliance with Euravia's Quality Systems
  • Maintain the highest 6S standard
  • Ensure compliance with H&S requirements and liaise with H&S manager as necessary
  • Completion of any other reasonable tasks as designated by your Line Manager

Position Requirements:

Essential Criteria:

  • Good level of education
  • Minimum of 3 years of aerospace experience (MRO preferable)

Desirable Criteria:

  • Supervisory experience
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft engines, specification and standards

Skills:

  • Analytical nature with ability to problem solve
  • Numeracy and literacy skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (in particular, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
