Overview

In this role you will lead NC programming efforts to engineer components from customer specs and drawings. You will drive efficiency by reducing machine runtime and bottlenecks within a high-precision aerospace environment. You’ll oversee the NC team, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and shape the manufacturing process for new and existing products. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines technical execution with continuous improvement to meet CI targets.

Responsibilities

  • NC programming and verification on CNC machines
  • Create and oversee prove-out sheets for new programs
  • Interpret customer specifications and drawings
  • Design fixtures and jigs and construct solid models
  • Produce component documentation to stabilize processes and runtimes
  • Optimize processes to reduce machine runtimes and bottlenecks for CI targets
  • Assist in engineering production processes, material flow and machine utilization
  • Project manage NC introduction of new products through the shop system
  • Lead NC Programming team including workload planning and performance management
  • Ensure safety, 5S/6S compliance and proper setup sheets
  • Provide technical escalation for complex NC and machining issues
  • Liaise with internal departments during new/modified program introductions
  • Hands-on engagement as needed
  • Generate technical reports for customers

Key requirements

  • 5 years’ experience of High Speed Machining
  • Strong tooling selection knowledge for required components
  • 5 years’ experience at this level
  • Advanced Catia V5 Programming
  • Vericut simulation software
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and customer specifications
  • Large scale component manufacture experience
  • Knowledge of optimum speeds and feeds
  • Project management and team leadership
  • Ability to work under pressure
