Position SummaryMagellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Quality Engineer.Full Time Permanent Position40 hours per weekMonday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm / Friday 7:30am – 1:30pmJob location: Blackpool Business Park, Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool, FY4 2RPUnionised site – works in partnership with Unite the UnionThis role is governed by ITAR, restrictions may applySupporting the Quality Manager and the wider functional team in ensuring that all relevant aspects of Quality Assurance / Control / Governance processes and key performance indicators and relevant approvals are in line with divisional, regional and corporate level requirements. Support both 2nd and 3rd party audit visits Produce relevant periodic reports and support where required the business review process ensuring all information provided is detailed, accurate and in line with timeframes required Actively support the Quality Team in the following Quality Assurance / Quality Control aspects:FAIInspection and Metrology methodsThe management and coordination of all non-conformance requirementsStamp Control Active involvement with the structured Problem-Solving process Monitor and report out on the Supplier Quality performance Build good working relationships with other functions of the business both internally and the wider Magellan group to ensure business requirements are achieved through collaboration and consistent approach Proactively maintain functional knowledge by keeping up to date with current and developing Quality processes. Fulfil training programs deemed necessary to allow efficient performance of duties and assist in your own personal development Work with a minimum amount of supervision, maintaining good consistent levels of productivity Work in a safe manner in compliance with company Health & Safety policy. Report and log and Health & Safety incidents that occur Support relevant MOS requirements for the Quality Department and actively contribute to any 6S activities on site Any other reasonable duties as requested by management in support of the businessSkills / Knowledge RequirementsEssential Criteria:Academic: Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or working towardsRelevant Quality Assurance toolbox qualificationsGCSE or equivalent including Maths & English Good verbal and written communicationExperience: Experience in a similar position within a regulated industry such as Aerospace, Automotive or similarInspection and Metrology working experienceDesirable Criteria: Experience and/or exposure to internal auditing and practical problem-solving methodology desirable but not essentialOther skills/ Abilities / Personal Attributes:Skills: Numerate and literate with the ability to produce accurate and detailed informationAbility to use Microsoft packageEffective at communicating at all levels of the businessStrong attention to detailAbilities: Ability to work under pressure and be flexible to business needsSelf-driven and able to use own initiative and make decisionsPersonal Attributes: Organised and able to work to specified timeframesStrong quality focus with a common-sense approachValues: To have integrity Respectful to others Creative in finding ways to do things better Act ethically in all you do Collaborate well with othersAbout usMagellan Aerospace is a global, integrated aerospace company that provides complex assemblies and systems solutions to aircraft and engine manufacturers, defence and space agencies worldwide.
