Overview
In this development-focused role you join the NC Manufacturing Engineering team to learn and contribute to CNC programming and manufacturing processes. You will shadow senior engineers, build CATIA and NC programming skills, and progressively take on defined tasks. The position aims to develop you into a fully competent NC Manufacturing Engineer within Magellan Aerospace. You work in a collaborative environment that supports ongoing learning and career progression.

Responsibilities
- Create and modify CNC programmes under supervision
- Develop proficiency in CATIA and related tools
- Learn NC programming principles for CNC machining
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications
- Understand cutting tools, workholding, parameters, and strategies
- Shadow engineers to learn end-to-end manufacturing processes
- Understand aerospace standards and company procedures
- Assist with solving machining problems and production constraints
- Contribute to continuous improvement in machining
- Support development and implementation of improved machining strategies
Key requirements
- GCSE Maths & English
- Relevant engineering/manufacturing apprenticeship with demonstrable interest in CNC machining
