Magellan Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a NPI Procurement Lead. Full time, permanent position, 39 hours per week. Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB. Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
The NPI Procurement lead is responsible for the overall co-ordination of New Programmes, major Change Programmes and major Work Transfer within Procurement. The NPI Lead is the conduit into Procurement to ensure the function is prepared and aligned to meet the future business requirements on major projects and providing feedback as part of the bid process. Working closely with the Category Leads to ensure sourcing is in line with programme requirements from a Quality, Cost, Delivery and Risk perspective and that the Gated Process is adhered to.

Essential Responsibilities
- New Programmes / Change Programmes / Work Transfer – leading the co-ordination of information and requirements with the programme teams to define the scope for the procurement function
- Cost Reduction - working with the Category Leads (CL) to ensure target costs are achieved and developing cost reduction “bridges” where required
- Long Term Agreements – working with the CL to ensure contractual flow down of terms and conditions are in place to fit overall strategy
- Supplier Relationship Management – support the business reviews from a NPI perspective
- Stakeholder Engagement – working with key functions to provide a consolidated procurement overview: Concept stage to start of production
- KPI reporting – responsible for reporting performance linked to NPI timelines and requirements
- Supplier negotiations – support the CL as required to meet programme targets
- Communication – ensure the function is fully aware of programme timelines, key milestones
- Supply Chain Map – responsible for developing overall mapping per project – including assessments for lead-times and single points of failure risk mitigations
- Bill of Materials analysis – actual and synthetic cost modelling in support of the bid model
- Strategic Sourcing Board – working with the CL to ensure compliance and milestones achieved
- Business Continuity – working with the CL to ensure risk mitigation plans are robust to meet programme requirements
- Corporate Governance, Systems and Procedure compliance – sourcing within guidelines
- Continuous Improvement – ensure Procurement are reviewing/refining the process
- Make versus Buy – support where necessary and drive compliance within the project
- Attend daily/weekly sessions to update on progress
- Support the NPI process as and when required
Position Requirements
Academic
- Degree Desirable
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) desired or working towards the qualification
Experience
- 3-5 years Procurement experience or equivalent in a customer facing or programme management role
- Aeronautic experience preferred but not essential
