Location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB. Full time, permanent position. 39 hours per week. Regional role. Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
Magellan Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for Head of Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for ensuring accurate and timely financial information from each UK site, production of consolidated Wrexham Group financials and ensuring the wider business is supported at all times.
- Review MALUK month end, quarter end, forecast and budget submissions from each site and produce accurate and timely consolidation with narrative to support.
- Prepare the weekly consolidated cash flow for UK sites, ensuring alignment with the monthly reported position.
- Review funding requirements, ensuring loans are drawn and repaid timely.
- Lead all interim and year end audits.
- Establish standardisation within UK finance processes and then improve on processes, systems and reporting.
- Work with internal audit to establish best in class processes that can be rolled out to the rest of the global organisation.
- Work closely with UK Divisional Managers to provide support for the development of action plans, aiding their financial understanding of decisions and ensuring compliance.
- Find and develop better ways of utilising SAP for operational and financial reporting and to improve data integrity.
- Identify areas for cost reductions and areas of business risk.
- Work with the CI team to understand projects and their financial rewards, ensuring projects remain on track.
- Collaborate with the commercial team to produce UK bid models that are fit for purpose, informative and have the correct level of analysis for corporate approval.
- Support the UK finance team and develop their capabilities; seek ways to improve engagement within finance.
- Deputise for the European FD as required.
- Any other reasonable duties in support of business needs.
Position Requirements:
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
- Experience of treasury & cost accounting
- Experience of consolidating financial results
- Knowledge of FX and impacts to financial statements
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and accounting software packages
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels
- Team player who takes ownership and completes tasks
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent IT skills
