Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Pressure Test Operator. This is a full-time permanent position with a 24/7 shift pattern, including days, nights, and weekends. The job location is Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB. This is a unionised site that works in partnership with Unite the Union.
The role involves providing pressure testing of aircraft parts (connectors and adaptors) to customer specifications.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Interpret and comply with company HS&E Policies and safety regulations
- Identify potential hazards and take appropriate action to eliminate
- Ensure a safe and environmentally friendly environment to company H&S standards
- Responsible to the Production Supervisor, Treatments
- Receive work instructions from the production schedule provided by the Line Manager and work on own initiative with little supervision other than when priorities are assigned by the Line Manager
- Pressure test aircraft parts (connectors & adaptors) to predetermined pressures and customer specifications, reading the correct pressure from the job card or part/pressure test list
- Report any failed test by completing the NCR form and escalating the issue to the Line Manager
- Cross-check the job card to ensure all prior operations have been completed, signed off and stamped before carrying out the pressure test; failure to complete the checks can result in reprocessing, delays and additional costs
- Process parts at an approximate throughput rate (e.g. 90-150 parts per day) without departmental targets
- Ensure work area complies with company-wide 6S standards and maintain snag items from 6S audits as required from an electrical aspect
- Work on own or with a team
- Adhere to 6S and maintain the site compliance

Essential Criteria:
- Basic level of education – GCSE in Maths or proven apprenticeship
- Basic numeracy level for setting of pressure gauges
- Basic on-job training to grasp the rudimentary of the job
