Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Labourer. This is a full-time permanent contract with 42 hours average per week working 24/7 shifts. Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB. The site is unionised and works in partnership with Unite the Union.
To ensure all parts and material move around the business, and housekeeping in accordance with 6S standards, to ensure all FLTs and works vans are in good safe working order and fit for purpose.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Must comply with relevant Environment, Health and Safety legislation and company policies, procedures and safe working systems.
- Ensure a safe working environment & practices are maintained and compliance to site HSE standards.
- Check FLTs are fit for purpose and ensure check sheet is updated.
- Carry minor remedial work (e.g. top up fluids) and report any deviations to Line Manager.
- Check the perimeter fences are secure and report to Line manager if not to effect repair.
- Move palletised materials to point of use, unload contents, remove pallets, break up and place in skip for disposal.
- Ensure Swarf compactor extraction unit is regularly inspected and emptied as required.
- Ensure that waste bins for shop floor are emptied as required.
- Ensure hazardous waste bins are emptied and put into the respective waste containers and inform the Line Manager when waste containers are full to enable the arrangement for disposal.
- Remove oil from Verson drip tray to prevent overflow and slip hazards.
- Maintain clean shop floor walkways using appropriate floor cleaner.
- Ensure yard area is maintained to company wide 6S standards at all times, yard to be salted in adverse weather when required.
- Provide an offload and load up operation of parts to the machines as required by the machinists using overhead cranes.
- Ensure raw materials in the yard are suitably covered and weather proofed.
- Collect spars from stores and load up with parts and deliver to the required location according to the production schedule.
- Ensure the waste metal skips contain the correct waste and escalate to Line Manager if they do not.
- Ensure all parts coming into the business are clocked and showing its true locations.
- Will be required to utilise the overhead cranes, full training will be given.
- Will be used as a Banksman, full training will be given.
- Ensure all MIC deliveries are processed on time with plan, operating in a safe and controlled manner.
- Will also be required to support production when required to ensure targets are met.
Position Requirements:
- GCSE or equivalent including Maths & English.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- FLT License essential.
- Excellent Visual Requirements (passed a vision exam).
