HSE Advisor (Machining)

Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham, has an exciting opportunity for a HSE Advisor (Machining).

• Full Time Permanent Contract
• 39 hours per week
• Location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB
• Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union

As HSE Advisor (Machining), you will support the Wrexham HSE and corporate functions. Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will engage with site operational and support stakeholders to identify, coordinate, and drive health, safety, and environmental improvements, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist the HSE Manager in delivering safety performance aligned with goals
• Support senior management with HSE advice and guidance
• Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions
• Provide HSE performance reports
• Coordinate and facilitate training programs
• Maintain ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and audit records
• Create safety alerts, toolbox talks, and lessons
• Participate in HSE meetings and present achievements
• Conduct inspections and liaise during audits
• Advise on risk assessments and safe systems of work
• Prepare HSE reports, including statutory requirements
• Promote safe working practices on the shop floor
• Collaborate with Occupational Health providers

Position Requirements

Professional Accreditations

• NEBOSH Certification
• Tech IOSH or higher

Experience

• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing HSE requirements preferred
• Experience with risk assessments, COSHH, fire safety, and legal compliance
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
• Experience engaging with authorities and regulators
