Electronics & Software Engineer Hastings, East Sussex Permanent up to £40,000
In this role you will be working for a small established manufacturing business who develop safety critical products used across a variety of industries such as rail, aerospace and automotive.
The company has a mixture of off the shelf products and bespoke designs for customer projects. Your role will be predominantly focused on design and development, with a small amount of maintenance on legacy products.
The role would suit a software focused Engineer who also has a good appreciation of hardware. Youll be working in a small R&D team and learning about the companies products, processes and systems from a longstanding employee who is looking to retire in the foreseeable future.
Essential Skills
- Strong ability to program Microcontrollers in Embedded C
- At least some knowledge of C#/.Net
- Some knowledge of Networking (PSTN, TCP/IP, and 4G/5G systems)
- At least an appreciation of Hardware Design
Desirable Skills
- If you have stronger hardware design skills, in analogue and/or digital electronics, these will be put to good use
- PCB Layout
- PIC Microcontrollers
- Fusion 360/Eagle CAD Package
- High Voltage (up to 15 kV) Electronics
- Development experience with 4G/5G modems, Wi-Fi modules & LoRaWAN
- Experience with safety critical regulatory and quality standards

- The role is site based, within walking distance from a train station (free parking if commuting by car)
- Working hours mon-thurs are either 7:30am-4:30pm or 8am-5pm. Friday is a 12pm finish
