The role MMP is looking to recruit an experienced Sponsorships and Grants Manager to work within the MMP Business Team, to cover a maternity leave. The ideal start date for this role will be in mid-August 2026, to ensure a suitable handover period. The Sponsorships and Grants Manager will execute the sponsorships and grants strategies to achieve revenue targets across digital and live medical education programmes and to seek educational funding for MMP’s online educational projects and scientific workshops and events. The role offers varied and interesting work within a high-performing, stimulating and supportive environment.
You will be responsible for implementing the strategic plan, identifying support opportunities, submitting grants applications and sponsorship proposals as required and ensuring all submissions meet industry standards for independence, transparency, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work on a variety of tasks at the same time whilst maintaining high standards, including coping with busy periods and tight deadlines. Most of all, we are looking for someone with a flexible can-do approach, self-motivation and a willingness to learn. This is a fantastic role for someone passionate about communicating the importance of digital medical education programmes – and taking real ownership of their work – with a successful growing publisher.
What you’ll do As a Sponsorships and Grants Manager, you will:
- Develop and execute sponsorship and grant strategies to achieve revenue targets across digital and live medical education programmes
- Identify, secure, and grow sponsorships, educational grants, and other medical education support from pharmaceutical and healthcare industry organisations, including supporting the Managing Director and Partnerships Manager in developing and converting new commercial opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective sponsors, grant providers, medical affairs contacts, grants administrators, industry stakeholders, and pharmaceutical grants committees
- Lead end-to-end sponsorship and grant submission processes, ensuring all proposals, applications, and partnership materials are high-quality, compliant and commercially aligned
- Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, scientific, production, and commercial teams to shape fundable, needs-based educational programmes and sponsorship packages, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and supporter requirements
- Track and report on sponsorship and grant utilisation, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives, milestones, KPIs, and outcomes
- Develop impact and sponsorship reporting frameworks incorporating analytics, engagement metrics, ROI measures, and learning impact data (e.g., Moore’s Levels)
- Research therapy areas, healthcare trends, and pharmaceutical pipeline developments (e.g., Phase II/III trials) to identify funding, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities aligned with supporter interests
- Support the Partnerships Manager and wider Partnerships Team with business development activities, sponsor engagement, proposal development, and strategic relationship management as required
- Represent the company at international congresses, industry events, and networking opportunities to identify new sponsorship and funding opportunities while strengthening existing partnerships
- Maintain and optimise CRM systems to track sponsor and grant interactions, partnership opportunities, funding pipelines, and account activity
- Work closely with finance teams to manage sponsorship and grant budgets, invoicing, reconciliation, and financial reporting
Requirements
- A life sciences degree, or equivalent experience in a life science environment, is essential
- Minimum of three years prior experience in a sponsorships and/or grants environment in a medical education company or medical agency (or similar)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Rigorous attention to detail with high levels of accuracy and confidence in dealing with a wide variety of people. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office platforms (Word, Office, Excel, PowerPoint), google analytics and keen to learn new digital skills.
- Confident in managing competing priorities and deadlines while keeping stakeholders informed
- Experience in both grants and sponsorships is desirable; however, candidates with strong experience in either area are encouraged to apply.
