Overview
Chef de Partie position based at Manchester Airport - aether "The Private Terminal".
Temporary role until August 2027. 40 hours per week. £15.73 per hour.

Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all daily kitchen operations; ensure high quality, consistency, and efficiency from start to finish.
- Direct the Commis Chefs in day-to-day kitchen activities.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure proper stock of food and supplies; monitor stock levels and rotate inventory to minimize waste.
- Maintain food quality and implement/improve health and safety standards within the kitchen.
- Prepare, cook, and deliver food in accordance with the agreed menu and Lounge Operating Procedures.
- Follow recipes and product directions for all foods; operate a variety of kitchen equipment.
- Inspect deliveries for quality and quantity; store items correctly and manage inventory.
- Complete required stock checks (including temperature checks) and maintain documentation.
- Work with the Commis Chef and Senior Chef to prepare foods; perform preparation tasks (washing, peeling, cutting, shredding) as needed.
- Ensure the food offering is presented to a high standard; maintain presentation in line with operating standards.
- Assist with kitchen organisation and hygiene; ensure floors are clean, equipment sanitized, and waste disposed of appropriately.
- Assist in training new staff, including subcontracted supplier staff, to uphold presentation, hospitality, and service standards.
- Work flexibly to the rota to meet operational needs.
- What will make you successful
- Strong hospitality professional with experience in high-quality food production and service delivery.
- NVQ Level 2 Commis Chef, City & Guilds Food Production, or equivalent qualification; experience in a similar role or current Commis Chef looking to progress.
- Excellent food preparation, cooking, knife skills, and sound understanding of food safety, product handling, and storage requirements.
- Proactive team player with a customer-focused approach; ability to build relationships and support colleagues to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
- Key skills: NVQ Level 2 Commis Chef or equivalent; proven hospitality and service experience; advanced food preparation, cooking, and presentation; strong knowledge of food safety regulations.
- Excellent customer service and a first-class approach to guest satisfaction; ability to brief, coach, and support team to deliver high-quality dishes and menu items.
- Computer literate; experience with Microsoft Office and Zonal stock/ordering systems.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Understanding of profit and loss principles; contribute to financial performance by operating efficiently, minimizing waste, and supporting target margins.
