The role
This role is an exciting opportunity to shape, lead, and deliver MAG’s public affairs strategy. You will play a key role in positioning Manchester Airport in being an economic driver for the whole of the North, while also articulating the importance of international travel.
Key responsibilities include managing Manchester Airports stakeholder engagement and public affairs activity, measuring impact and influence, and overseeing the production of essential briefings and policy updates for key partners. You will account manage regional relationships, helping to strengthen MAG’s reputation and build influential partnerships that support its ambitions. You will understand policy and help promote our interests to MPs and local government on issues ranging from decarbonisation to rail infrastructure.
You will also play a critical role in coordinating and tracking strategic workstreams, offering political insight to the MAG Senior Leadership Team.
What will make you successful in the role?
In order to be successful in this role you will be experienced in public affairs, with a comprehensive understanding of the working of national and local government and policy. You will be a confident communicator with excellent writing skills, with good examples of briefings and reports. You will also need a clear grasp of complex policy. You will be a team player with a self-starting attitude and a proactive approach and previous leadership experience.
This is an external facing role, so you will have strong advocacy skills, representing Manchester Airport in meetings with MPs and at key external events. Your first-rate relationship-building skills will help us spread our influence across the North of England.
