The Operational Risk Manager will lead the development of a strong risk-aware culture across the organisation, ensuring risks are identified, managed and controlled effectively. They will oversee the organisation’s risk profile, supporting teams to maintain clear and up-to-date risk registers and implement practical control measures. The role will also work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to manage key corporate risks and ensure controls remain effective. In addition, the role will develop KPIs and reporting to ensure risks are clearly tracked, prioritised and escalated when needed.
What will make you successful in this role:
- Possess a qualification in risk management with practical application of experience.
- Demonstrable experience of using data analysis tools and techniques to support the timely and accurate provision of risk information.
- Experience developing and maintaining risk management systems.
- Confident in making presentations to varied audiences.
- Knowledge and experience undertaking risk assessments and implementing mitigation as required.
- Experience in the coordination of, and support to, senior governance forums.
- Ability to function effectively and deliver activities across multiple functions in a fast-paced environment to meet high-pressure deadlines.
- Experience of being able to prioritise workloads according to changing demands.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to think in a creative and innovative manner.
- Leadership skills to influence and support senior leaders.
- Technical skills including proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Access).
