The role involves setting, managing and assessing standards for the competence of Engineering safety appointed personnel such as Authorised Persons (AP) and Nominated Persons (NP) and authoring and reviewing safe systems of work for maintenance delivery for both MAG and 3rd party personnel, ensuring compliance with Low Voltage Electrical Safety Guidance. You will control and review all legislative records relating to electrical engineering safety, ensuring such records are effectively managed within MAG’s corporate reporting systems (Maximo), provide technical support for all electrical systems across the core Engineering function and continuously review and amend where appropriate the Low Voltage Electrical Safety Guidance document, ensuring compliance with overarching legislative standards. You will also provide SME accountability to all Capital Projects relating to electrical distribution systems, planning, communicating and ensuring delivery of all HV maintenance works and developing and leading a LV maintenance and inspection plan for all core Engineering assets.

What will make me successful in the role? The successful candidate will have a professional qualification in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years experience within an engineering management environment. You will have experience managing budgets, managing change and leading and developing teams, with the ability to influence and negotiate to motivate multidisciplinary networks to work towards a common goal. You will also have strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain often complex issues in simple language to Senior Leaders and other 3rd parties.
