The role
The key responsibilities for the Motor Transport Apprentice include
- Activelyseekto enhance their knowledge and understanding of Manchester Airport Group and how Motor Transport supports the business needs.
- Ensure a consistent, proactiveand enthusiastic approach to learning both at college and in Motor Transport to guarantee personal development anda quality return for investment ensuring fulfilment of required curriculum and desired output.
- Develop effectiveproblem-solvingskills withthe abilityto complete tasks using technical documentseither from hard copy or soft copy when provided with the correct tools used in accordance applicable codes of practice.
- Assisttechnicianswhenrequiredwiththe inspection, serviceand repair of light, heavy and specialist equipment in accordance withcurrent legislation and industry best practice aiming towards full qualification.
- Abide by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (Duties of Employees), ensuring safe practice isalways adhered to.
- Complete maintenance documentation (hard or soft copy) inan accurateandtimelymanner.
- Attend allappropriate trainingat Stansted Airport as set by the Workshop Manager or at the approved training college as set by a tutor.
What will make you successful in the role?
- 5 x GCSE’s grade 4 and above (including Maths and English).
- Self-confident, enthusiasticand proactive.
- Str ong communicator, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working as a team.
- IT literate with MS Office.
- UK full Driving Licence preferable.
