Our People Function works across brands, geographies, and cultures to support one global Maersk. As People Operations Team Lead, United Kingdom and Ireland, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence and supporting a team of People Operations Advisors to deliver a world-class employee experience. You will ensure that HR queries are resolved efficiently, processes run smoothly, and your team is empowered to provide exceptional service to employees and stakeholders. The role can be based in any of our UK offices: Felixstowe, Maidenhead, or Liverpool.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and develop a team of People Operations Advisors, ensuring high performance, engagement, and continuous learning.
- Drive operational excellence by monitoring service delivery metrics (HR cases in Workday), identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing best practices.
- Act as an escalation point for complex HR queries and ensure timely resolution in collaboration with other HR teams.
- Oversee HR processes and systems (Workday), ensuring data accuracy and compliance with local labour laws for UK and Ireland and global standards.
- Partner with HR leadership team – People Partnering, Payroll and Rewards to support the delivery of the HR cycle (onboarding, performance management, job changes, exits, etc.).
- Your team will coach employees on HR policies, tools, and processes, promoting self-service and digital adoption.
- Contribute to projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee experience and operational efficiency.
- Experience in HR operations and strong knowledge of UK & Ireland labour law and HR practices.
- Leadership experience: ability to manage, coach, and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on building trust and relationships.
- Structured, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Agility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, global organization.
- Experience working with HR systems, preferably Workday.
- Drive to identify needs, investigate options, seek solutions and partner with other HR colleagues to resolve issues.
