Female Mental Health Support/Wellbeing Worker in Leeds

Role Description

The Mental Health Support/Wellbeing Worker is a full-time, role based in Leeds,. You will be based in the persons home, and provide direct support between two young women with mental health challenges and learning disabilities. In this role, the worker will deliver person-centered care, assist with daily living tasks, and support individuals in building independent living skills while maintaining safety and wellbeing. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing care plans, monitoring mental health presentation, documenting observations, and communicating changes to clinical and management teams. The worker will also support individuals in managing emotional distress, facilitating therapeutic and social activities, and promoting engagement with community resources. Collaboration with multidisciplinary professionals, adherence to safeguarding and risk management procedures, and clear, respectful communication with individuals and their networks are central to the role.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in mental health care and mental health support, including the ability to work with individuals with complex needs.
• Candidates should possess crisis Intervention skills, including de-escalation techniques and risk awareness in challenging situations.
• Relevant experience in learning disability, forensic services, or high-support environments is beneficial.
• Strong communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to maintain professional boundaries, are essential.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and follow clinical guidance and safeguarding procedures is required.
• Formal training or qualifications in health and social care, mental health, or related fields are advantageous.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, and a commitment to person-centered, non-judgmental practice are expected.
