About the role: This is the technical lead focusing on Qumulo's federal accounts. You'll partner with Sales and customers across the full cycle, from discovery through proof‑of‑concept, designing storage architectures that meet mission requirements across civilian, defense, and intelligence environments. The work is hands‑on with the people doing the work: customer architects, engineers, operations teams, and security stakeholders, plus the federal partners and systems integrators who bring solutions to end customers. You'll translate mission needs into solutions that perform at scale and hold up to federal security and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Own the technical relationship on federal opportunities, from discovery and demos through POCs and architecture sign‑off.
- Partner with account teams to qualify deals and develop technical strategies that move opportunities forward.
- Work with federal partners and systems integrators to design, validate, and position solutions for end customers.
- Design architectures that address performance, scale, resiliency, and security for federal environments.
- Build credibility with customer architects, engineers, operations teams, and security stakeholders.
- Build and maintain the federal technical toolkit: reference architectures, demo content, solution briefs, and competitive positioning.
- Bring federal use cases, customer feedback, and technical requirements back to Product and Engineering to inform roadmap.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years in a customer‑facing technical role (Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, or SE Leader) at a software or technology company, with experience supporting federal customers in pre‑sales, solution architecture, or technical consulting.
- Track record leading complex pre‑sales engagements end to end in federal environments, with results you can point to.
- Ability to translate mission needs and technical requirements into practical solution designs.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills across technical and executive audiences.
- Ability to influence outcomes across cross‑functional teams as a senior individual contributor.
Candidates with the following additional experience will be highly regarded:
- Experience supporting civilian, DoD, or intelligence community customers.
- Background in file system storage, unstructured data, hybrid cloud, or enterprise infrastructure.
- Familiarity with federal security, compliance, and deployment considerations for enterprise software.
- Active security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
- Experience with federal channel partners, systems integrators, or contract‑driven sales motions.
The annual pay range for the role is USD $260,000 - $270,000 OTE plus equity. Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills. Pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the pay range applicable at the time.
