Madisons Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Design Manager on a permanent basis on behalf of an award winning specialist main contractor. Our clients head office is located in the Slough area, however this role would require commuting to projects nationwide - therefore applicants must be willing to travel.
Our client are a leading contractor, specialising in the design and construction of contemporary facilities. With a track record of hundreds of successful projects across Europe and the UK, they are a recognised D&B contractor in the car parking market across the UK.
As a Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the design process for construction projects. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Project Management: Lead and manage the design process for commercial/steel frame construction projects from post-tender through to completion. Collaborate with internal teams, architects, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression. Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards to ensure adherence to project requirements. Identify and mitigate design-related risks throughout the construction process.
- Team Coordination: Effectively communicate design concepts and requirements to the project team. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to align design goals with construction objectives and ensure seamless coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee the design to ensure it meets specified standards and aligns with construction guidelines. Conduct regular design reviews to uphold quality and compliance with regulatory standards. Conduct regular site visits to uphold quality and compliance of construction with design.
- Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their vision and requirements for commercial/structural construction projects. Provide design solutions that meet client expectations while adhering to construction principles and regulatory requirements.
Design Manager qualifications and Skills: University degree in construction management, architecture, or civil engineering beneficial but not mandatory. Experienced and young professional. Very good language skills in English (minimum competency level C2). Experience with BIM design.
