Madisons Recruitment are looking for an experienced M&E Coordinator on a permanent basis for a highly reputable medium sized contractor in Slough, Berkshire. Please note this role is office based but occasionally requires site visits covering projects nationwide; you must be willing to travel to be suitable for this position.

Our client is a successful specialised contractor, with over 35 years of experience and more than 350 completed projects in both the UK & Europe. They are recruiting for a Mechanical & Electrical Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating the mechanical and electrical (M&E) aspects of a variety of current and upcoming projects. This role involves managing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems. The role will also include assisting with sales, the contracting side of M&E, project management side as well as design & tender processes.

  • Project Management: M&E Coordinator will be required to manage M&E project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Planning and Implementation: M&E Coordinators will be involved in developing and implementing M&E installation and commissioning plans, often collaborating with site supervisors and engineers.
  • Coordination: M&E Coordinator will act as a liaison between various stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and site management, to ensure M&E works are aligned with project goals.

M&E Coordinator duties:

  • Monitor, co-ordinate and control the flow of M&E design information to ensure the timely release of information for construction activities.
  • Assist within the sales department of the M&E division.
  • Assist in the tendering process for new projects for the M&E division.
  • Ensure the M&E designers identify hazards and assess risks to health and safety when designing the works.
  • Review M&E design information at tender stage and undertake a full design gap analysis to advise the bidding team of any design shortfalls.
  • Ensure all required approvals (statutory, regulatory, client and company) are in place as and when required.
  • Assist in ensuring that the M&E designers produce design development programmes which meet the needs of the contract programme, and review the programmes regularly.
  • Carry out cost checks on M&E design proposals and report serious deviations to senior management immediately.

Essential Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Building Sector.
  • Previous employment as a M&E Co-ordinator, Building Services Coordinator, M&E Manager, Building Services Manager or Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Designer, Project Engineer, M&E Supervisor, M&E Project Manager.
  • Previous Main Contractor employment would be ideal but not essential; Engineering Consultancy and M&E Subcontractor backgrounds also considered.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
  • CSCS Card.
