Madisons Recruitment are recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineeron a permanent basis for a client of ours located in London.

Our client is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the London office through a critical growth phase. The role will strengthen the team’s technical resilience and assist in delivering high-quality, efficient design solutions across a range of projects. This position is ideal for an intermediate engineer looking to advance their career, or for someone currently at engineer level aspiring to step into a senior role. Candidates who demonstrate initiative, strong technical grounding, and a collaborative mindset will thrive in this position.

Our client is amultidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy firm – Experience working within a consultancy firm will be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct lighting impact assessments across varied project types
  • Design and coordinate utilities and electrical connections
  • Deliver lighting designs (internal and external) using Dialux
  • Develop emergency lighting systems in compliance with relevant standards
  • Lay out LV power and data systems , including production of accurate schematics
  • Perform distribution board sizing and circuit analysis
  • Specify and size containment systems
  • Track and deliver on meeting actions and project follow-ups
  • Support with site-based activities , including inspections and surveys
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining team collaboration

Requirements

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671)
  • 3–6 years’ experience in building services or MEP consultancy
  • Proven ability in lighting and power system design
  • Familiar with UK electrical design standards and relevant regulations
  • Strong working knowledge of Dialux , AutoCAD and/or Revit (preferred)
  • Comfortable with both detailed design and concept development
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Confident communicator and effective team player
  • Site experience and knowledge of construction-stage workflows is advantageous
  • Aspiration to move into a client-facing or senior role is welcomed
