We are recruiting for a Construction Compliance Officer with the following details on the role in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

We are a specialist construction contractor operating in regulated, safety-critical environments including healthcare, education and food production. As the business grows, we are strengthening our internal systems and seeking a capable individual to support compliance, SHEQ documentation and operational coordination. This is a junior office-based role with real responsibility. Training will be provided, but it suits someone who can work independently, understand requirements and improve processes — not just follow instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage RAMS, lifting plans, induction packs, reports and O&M manuals
  • Maintain document control, versioning and digital file structures
  • Support compliance and accreditations (e.g. CHAS, SafeContractor, Constructionline)
  • Assist with ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 systems, audits and records
  • Act as an internal user for Simpro and Tier 1 client portals (ACC, Asite)
  • Identify and implement improvements to documentation and workflows

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 12 months’ office-based experience in a construction environment
  • Experience with RAMS or construction H&S documentation
  • Strong written English and high attention to detail
  • Confident using digital systems and customer portals
  • Organised, professional and comfortable working independently

Desirable

  • Exposure to ISO standards or compliance audits

Not Suitable If

  • Your experience is purely site-based
  • You are a general administrator with no construction compliance background
  • You require close supervision

Salary £30,000 - £35,000
