Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the school library
  • Support students with research, reading, homework, and literacy development
  • Catalogue, organise and maintain books, digital resources, and library systems
  • Deliver library inductions and promote reading for pleasure across year groups
  • Assist teaching staff with resources for lessons and curriculum projects
  • Oversee library behaviour, independent study, and quiet working areas
  • Coordinate book loans, returns, reservations, and stock management
  • Support whole-school literacy events, book fairs, and reading initiatives
Requirements
  • Experience as a School Librarian, Library Technician, Library Assistant, or similar
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Confident using library management systems (e.g., Eclipse, Accessit, Oliver)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students
  • A passion for reading, information literacy, and supporting young people
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
