Madison Reign is working in partnership with a large, mainstream secondary school in Southwark. The school is seeking a proactive and dedicated Pastoral Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a long-term role starting ASAP, with a two-day paid trial and strong potential to continue until July 2028.

Role: Pastoral Assistant

Location: Southwark, South East London

Pay: £15 – £17 per hour

Start: ASAP

Contract: Long term (July 2028 +)

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting teaching and pastoral staff across the school
  • Covering classes when required
  • Providing 1:1 student support and intervention
  • Overseeing student attendance and absence follow-ups
  • Booking meetings and appointments with parents and staff
  • Completing administrative tasks related to pastoral care

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Pastoral Assistant or Cover Supervisor
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Able to reliably commute to Southwark

This role is subject to:

  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Overseas police checks (if applicable)
  • Professional reference checks
