Our client operates in the dynamic and fast-evolving field of offshore decommissioning. The company is expanding its fleet with an advanced Heavy Lift Jack-up, providing a unique opportunity to build an offshore project team from the ground up and develop long-term career prospects. As an Offshore Decommissioning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within the Jack-up Project crew, focusing on on-site project engineering. Your tasks include reviewing project execution documentation, preparing on-site engineering deliverables (e.g., You will report directly to the Offshore Project Superintendent. Your work will begin with the integration and commissioning of project equipment (e.g., Initial offshore campaigns will involve removing jackets (up to four in one batch) in the UK sector of the North Sea and overseeing load-in at disposal yards. Larger-scale projects, including jacket and topsides removals, are planned from 2026 onward. Develop preliminary lift plans in line with the client’s rigging and lifting procedures (LOLER) and ensure appropriate lifting equipment is available. Provide real-time “on-deck” updates to the Offshore Superintendent to ensure work progresses as planned. Draft additional method statements and job cards for offshore tasks as needed and document changes in the Management of Change process. Oversee deck layout updates, including 2D and 3D clash checks, and coordinate logistics with the Barge Engineer and Material Coordinator. Manage subcontractor engineering activities, monitor material and consumables availability, and ensure readiness for tasks. Conduct hands-on verification of materials (client-owned or subcontractor-supplied) and supervise on-deck tool and function tests. Anticipate and address potential construction issues (e.g., material shortages, equipment needs, workforce requirements) and report them to the Offshore Superintendent. At least 5 years of experience in industrial sectors, preferably heavy lifting. A degree in mechanical, structural, or naval engineering. Experience in decommissioning, hook-up, or industrial equipment installation in sectors such as offshore, nuclear, hydro, or complex civil construction. Advanced to expert-level CAD skills (AutoCAD, Inventor) to create and update drawings. Knowledge in one or more of the following: lifting operations, subsea construction/demolition, welding, rope access, or heavy transport (SPMT). Excellent computer skills, including the creation of detailed documentation, reports, and cost controls. Effective communicator with fluent English skills.
