Madison Hunt has been engaged by a mid‑market core infrastructure investor on an Investment Associate search for their London team. The platform invests in green and brownfield projects across transport, social infrastructure, transmission & utilities, as well as contracted digital infrastructure assets. The strategy is primarily Europe‑focused, with the flexibility to pursue select global opportunities supported by strong institutional backing and deep sector expertise. Associates will have the chance to work on a lean and highly experienced investment team, offering meaningful responsibility, close interaction with senior decision makers, and exposure across the full investment lifecycle.

The Role

Associates will play a central role in the origination, evaluation, and execution of core infrastructure investments, while also supporting portfolio oversight alongside a dedicated asset management function.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the origination and execution of brownfield and greenfield infrastructure transactions across Europe and selected global markets
  • Building and maintaining detailed financial models for core infrastructure assets, including project finance‑style structures and long‑term contracted revenue frameworks
  • Analysing construction, operational, and capital structure risk with a focus on downside protection and stable yield generation
  • Managing discrete diligence workstreams and engaging directly with advisors, lenders, management teams, and consortium partners
  • Preparing investment committee materials and participating in internal investment discussions
  • Supporting portfolio monitoring, refinancing processes, and strategic initiatives alongside the asset management team
  • Contributing to the evaluation of complex businesses and platform opportunities within core transport, social infrastructure, and utilities

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a high‑performing junior investor or adviser with a clear interest in long‑term infrastructure ownership and a trajectory toward senior investing roles. We are seeking individuals with:

  • Approximately 2–4 years of experience within infrastructure investment banking or project financing
  • Strong financial modelling skills and comfort working with project finance or long‑duration contracted cash flow assets
  • Exposure to complex transactions requiring commercial judgment and stakeholder coordination
  • A genuine interest in core infrastructure investing, including greenfield development and public‑private partnership structures
  • Intellectual curiosity, strong numerical capability, and the ability to operate effectively within a small, high‑performance team
  • A personable, collaborative approach and willingness to take ownership in a demanding but supportive environment
  • European language skills may be beneficial given the platform’s continental investment focus, but are not essential.

Please Note: Due to the high volume and calibre of interest across Madison Hunt’s infrastructure mandates, we are only able to respond to candidates who closely meet the above criteria.
