A leading real estate investment and asset management business is looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment within a collaborative team.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with investment and asset management teams
- Managing purchase and sales ledgers
- Supplier reconciliations, payment runs and bank payments
- Supporting month-end processes including journals and financial data uploads
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
- Intercompany reconciliations, including multi-currency transactions
- Preparing VAT and CIS returns
- Assisting with management reporting including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis
- Supporting annual audit processes
- Producing ad hoc reports and reconciliations as required
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
- Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Experience using property or real estate accounting systems such as Opera or Yardi would be advantageous, though not essential
- Experience with month-end processes and working to deadlines
- AAT qualified or part-qualified accountant preferred
- Confident Excel and Microsoft Office user
- Team-oriented with a proactive approach
- Must have the right to work in the UK
