A leading real estate investment and asset management business is looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment within a collaborative team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with investment and asset management teams
  • Managing purchase and sales ledgers
  • Supplier reconciliations, payment runs and bank payments
  • Supporting month-end processes including journals and financial data uploads
  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
  • Intercompany reconciliations, including multi-currency transactions
  • Preparing VAT and CIS returns
  • Assisting with management reporting including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis
  • Supporting annual audit processes
  • Producing ad hoc reports and reconciliations as required

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
  • Experience using property or real estate accounting systems such as Opera or Yardi would be advantageous, though not essential
  • Experience with month-end processes and working to deadlines
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified accountant preferred
  • Confident Excel and Microsoft Office user
