Madison Berkeley is pleased to be representing a brilliant client‑side organisation who are looking for a retail leasing specialist to join their growing team based from their London HQ. One of the UK’s most well‑established fashion retailers, who also have a significant global presence, is recruiting into their very well‑regarded Leasing team. They are looking for someone to join a very collaborative and energetic team, and take responsibility for your own UK portfolio.
Role
The role involves setting the strategy for your region/brand (alongside the Head of the team), taking responsibility for sourcing new stores, extending existing stores, or negotiating a move of store within an existing location. You will then take responsibility for store development, fit out, launch, managing the process through to final delivery, and remaining in close connection following launch/extension. You will also negotiate lease actions for existing stores, including lease terms, extensions, rent reductions, kick outs and terminations. A key part of the role includes being fully engaged with the regional market, ensuring the portfolio is competitive in the area, and ensuring the competition is mapped.
Requirements
- MRICS is preferred but not essential
- A real passion for the retail industry, ideally with particular interest in fashion retail
- The ability to handle tough negotiations with productive results
- Ability to present to Director level colleagues
- Strong numerical skills, and able to understand spreadsheets, modelling and P&L’s
