The Opportunity
We are working with an established specialist Commercial Property Advisory business looking to appoint a Rent Review Surveyor to join its growing Lease Advisory team.
The business has enjoyed one of its strongest years to date and is now investing in the expansion of its technical advisory and strategic property services.
With over 18 years of experience and more than £500 million in client savings delivered, the company advises major national retail, hospitality and leisure occupiers on commercial lease negotiations, rental liabilities and wider property strategies.
The company also operates as an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), offering employees the opportunity to benefit from the wider success of the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable Surveyor or Senior Surveyor looking to develop their expertise within a highly specialised advisory environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will join an established Commercial Lease Advisory team, taking responsibility for managing rent review instructions and delivering commercially focused advice to a range of national occupier clients.
The role offers exposure to complex negotiations, arbitration proceedings and wider strategic lease advisory work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing commercial rent review instructions from initial valuation through to negotiation and settlement.
- Advising clients on rental values, lease provisions and market conditions.
- Negotiating directly with landlords and their appointed surveyors.
- Preparing rental valuations, technical reports and supporting evidence.
- Working on arbitration and independent expert proceedings.
- Identifying opportunities to reduce clients' occupational costs.
- Building relationships with existing clients and supporting wider business development.
- Working alongside the Strategic Lease Management team on wider occupier portfolio matters.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Surveyor or Senior Surveyor with a strong technical background in commercial rent reviews.
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
- Experience within a dedicated Landlord & Tenant or Lease Advisory team.
- A good understanding of commercial lease structures and rental valuation methodologies.
- Experience of arbitration or independent expert proceedings.
- Confidence in negotiating with landlords and other professional advisers.
- Strong analytical, report writing and client relationship skills.
- A commercially minded approach and an interest in developing new business.
Experience advising retail, hospitality or leisure occupiers would be advantageous, although candidates from wider commercial property backgrounds will also be considered.
The Opportunity & Benefits
