Madison Berkeley is excited to be working with an established BTR operator and developer that are now looking to grow their PBSA platform. They are seeking a driven and analytical Acquisitions Associate to join a growing real estate investment platform. This individual will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and executing high-quality investment and development opportunities. The role offers exposure to all stages of the investment process - from deal sourcing and financial underwriting to negotiation and transaction execution - and provides a strong foundation for a long-term career in real estate investment.

Reporting to the senior acquisitions function, the Acquisitions Associate will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and industry stakeholders to support strategic growth objectives. The position is based in London, with some national travel required to assess opportunities and maintain investor relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deal Sourcing & Market Research: Identify and assess potential development and investment opportunities across the living sectors. Conduct detailed market research, including demographic analysis, economic trends, planning frameworks, and comparable transactions. Monitor market conditions to identify emerging trends, investment opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Financial Analysis & Underwriting: Prepare detailed financial models, including cash flow forecasts, IRR, NPV, and sensitivity analyses. Evaluate the commercial viability of prospective acquisitions in line with investment criteria. Screen and prioritise opportunities, presenting the most compelling proposals to senior stakeholders.
  • Investor Relations & Networking: Develop and maintain relationships with co-investors, institutional partners, brokers, and other market participants. Support capital raising and co-investment discussions for acquisitions and joint ventures. Build and expand a professional network to support sustained deal flow.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare investment memoranda, briefing notes, and presentations for internal decision-making and external partners. Provide regular updates on pipeline activity, market insights, and transaction progress. Maintain accurate records of market intelligence, contacts, and deal evaluations. Support and participate in negotiations with vendors, agents, and investment partners. Assist with the execution of acquisitions, joint ventures, and related transactions from initial assessment through completion. Coordinate with legal, finance, and operational advisers to ensure efficient transaction processes.
