Madigan Gill are seeking a professional and reliable Security Officer to join our team at a Department of Justice (DOJ) site in Leicestershire. This is a high-profile role requiring the highest standards of integrity, vigilance, and professionalism. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, premises, and assets during night-time and weekend operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a secure environment across the site through vigilant monitoring and patrols
  • Control access and egress, ensuring all entry procedures are strictly followed
  • Operate and monitor site access control systems (including BioSite or similar systems)
  • Conduct regular site patrols, identifying and reporting any suspicious activity or security breaches
  • Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, access logs, and daily activity reports
  • Liaise with site management, emergency services, and other stakeholders as required
  • Ensure full compliance with site-specific security procedures and DOJ protocols
  • Deliver a professional and courteous service at all times

Requirements

  • Valid SIA Licence – Door Supervisor (DS level)
  • CCTV desired but not essential
  • Ability to successfully pass full security screening to BS7858 standards
  • Must be eligible for and able to obtain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
  • High level of reliability, integrity, and professionalism
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends as part of a 4 on / 4 off rota
  • Experience operating BioSite access control systems (or similar site access systems)
  • CCTV SIA Licence (not essential, but advantageous)
  • Previous experience in a high-security or governmental environment (Full training will be provided for BioSite systems if required.)

Working Conditions

  • Night shifts and weekend working only
  • Average of 42 hours per week
  • Structured rolling rota (4 on / 4 off)
  • Work conducted primarily outdoors and across various site locations
